BIO-SA is a key partner in the biotechnology research and business environment that is expanding exponentially in Southern Arizona. Southern Arizona's Life Science industry is home to over 70 biotech companies engaged in sectors such as: medical devices, pharmaceutical R&D, medical imaging, industrial products, and biomaterials. The State of Arizona emphasizes biomedical and biotechnology growth in its economic development plan, and the BIO-SA cluster is working to ensure that the ingredients required for expansion of Southern Arizona's bioindustry sector are in place.

BIOCOM is a regional life science organisation representing more than 550 member companies in Southern California. The association focuses on initiatives that positively influence the region's life science community in the development and delivery of innovative products that improve health and quality of life.
